The Xacobeo (Holy Year in Santiago de Compostela) falls this year and is due to be celebrated in a very special way across Galicia. Xacobeo 2010 is the programme of cultural activities organised to commemorate this unique event. Music, dance, theatre, magic, children's shows, charity events, exhibitions, film, sports competitions, food fairs, etc will all combine! The activities in the Xacobeo 2010 programme are an invitation to experience this celebration in 10 different ways, with something to suit everyone, and featuring appearances by internationally renowned personalities and artists. The Cirque du Soleil company, with its show "Saltimbanco", and a special edition of the Sónar international festival in A Coruña, are just a few of the surprises in store.
The events are scheduled to take place in Santiago de Compostela and in other Galician cities such as Vigo, Lugo and A Coruña. The whole of Galicia will thus be transformed into a meeting point for the thousands of visitors who come from all corners of the world. The Galician capital is known worldwide for being one of the most important spiritual pilgrimage centres for Christianity since the Middle Ages. In 1985, UNESCO declared Santiago de Compostela World Heritage Site for its great cultural and architectural richness.

Romania member, Premier Destinations, introduces the beauty of Romanian culture and explains why it could benefit your next event.
|

|
 |
Bucharest, a city once known as the "Paris of Eastern Europe" is today experiencing renewed vigour. The glorious belle époque buildings and fashionable parks are blending with the large number of museums, art galleries, exquisite Orthodox churches and unique architectural sites to create the modern Romanian Capital.
Bucharest's buzzing cultural scene - 37 museums, 22 theatres, concert halls, an opera house, 18 art galleries, jazz clubs and hip nightclubs - will certainly keep you busy! The "communist legacy" is best represented by the Palace of Parliament, which at 3.76 million square feet stands as the world's second largest building after the U.S. Pentagon. Nowadays, the venue operates as one of the most impressive and generous conference centres in Europe, with halls varying in size from 100 to 2.600 square meters.
Bucharest also offers excellent standard hotels, with many international hotel chains already present in Romania and more coming on line all the time. The JW Marriott Bucharest is the first JW in Continental Europe. A recent survey rated the hotel as the 3rd best in Eastern Europe, after the Mandarin Oriental in Prague and the Four Seasons in Budapest.
Prestigiously located next to the stunning Palace of Parliament, the JW Marriott Bucharest is its own "city within a city", completed with shopping galleries and a casino, state-of-the-art fitness centre and 4 of Bucharest's finest restaurants.
Guest rooms and suites (402 in total) are the largest in Bucharest, offering round-the-clock butler service and featuring exquisite bedding.
Premier Destinations, your dedicated DMC in Romania, is delighted to present a special weekend offer based at this exquisite hotel: 185 €/ person, including 2 nights accommodation in double room, a dinner with drinks in a local restaurant and return airport transfers. The offer is valid until 20th July for groups of minimum 20 persons.

|

The New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl and are now the world champions! As Customs Conventions President Carling Dinkler explains, "New Orleans is speeding its recovery with the election of a new mayor, the former Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu, who in his office as Lt. Governor was also head of all state tourism. We are excited that the same expertise will carry over to New Orleans.
"New Orleans is finally in a positive position to bring back much of what was lost from the storm. The city is poised for a great future and Custom Conventions will be out front in all of these new tourism efforts."
